I can't believe how this year is racing by. We're nearly at the end of May, so maybe some hot weather is just around the corner? Here's hoping! This is just a snapshot of some greenery growing on my sitting room windowsill. Pea shoots, sorrel, I think that's lemon verbena in the background. I'd love to do a basic gardening course - something that includes organic principles, but also crafty elements and thrifty ideas - but I think those kind of courses are short on the ground (no pun intended). Instead I'm spending my time between needlepoint projects on pottering around on my allotment and trying to teach myself. I do battle against the Evil Slugs and dig up tenacious bindweed. At home I'm attempting to learn to cook. I'll never be a Delia but I can manage the odd fruit crumble, and am going to try ginger biscuits today. Maybe watching repeats of the Great British Bake Off are inspiring me. Will my biscuits be good enough for Mary Berry? We'll see.
